Pedestrian Path and View Terrace at Sajutu Park, Valmiera has received the Latvian Landscape Architecture Award 2019 (LAABA). The prize was awarded for the first time this year, and it gathered landscape architecture of the past 10 years. 77 projects were submitted for the prize and the View Terrace was the youngest of all applications, as its construction was completed only in the middle of this summer.
Applications for LAABA prize were evaluated by national and international jury. Members of international jury who selected the main prize winners were: James Hayter (Australia), President of IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects); Jenny B. Osuldsen, Partner at Norwegian Office Snøhetta; Kristiina Kupper, president of the Estonian Association of Landscape Architects and Mantas Pilskauskas, President of the Lithuanian Association of Landscape Architects.
